Psalm 98:1-9

Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord

1. Oh sing to the Lord a new song,

for he has done marvelous things!

His right hand and his holy arm

have worked salvation for him.

 2. The Lord has made known his salvation;

he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.

3. He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness

to the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen

the salvation of our God.

4. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;

break forth into joyous songs and sing praises!

5. Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,

with the lyre and the sound of melody!

6. With trumpets and the sound of the horn

make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!

7. Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;

the world and those who dwell in it!

8. Let the rivers clap their hands;

let the hills sing for joy together

9. before the Lord, for he comes

to judge the earth.

He will judge the world with righteousness,

and the people with equity.

In 2015 we were chartered and we adopted the theme "Dawn of a New Day" this theme was so appropriate and was the expression from our very own Past Grand Master, Most Worshipful Gardner M. Torrence, Sr. 33°.. But this year I choose another theme "Situated to Succeed", the success of Anthony T. Stafford Military Lodge No. 16 is no brainier. A successful lodge must have brothers in place that know their Masonry and craft. . Honorary Past Grand Master, Most Worshipful Andrew Morgan 33° a true Brother indeed, comrade, friend, and our masonic mentor who always express "Organize, Set your goals but have a strategy" in other words an Organizational Strategy, the sum of the actions a lodge intends to take to achieve long-term goals. We are so privileged and honored to have this great brother as a member and one of the founders of our lodge. Although there’s a bottom line that Lodge officers have to manage, it can’t be the only thing. “Lodge Leadership” today has to recognize that member satisfaction is important and find a happy medium between new young members and the old hardcore members unwilling to change traditional methods that supposedly determine member satisfaction in any Lodge.

This is why I say we are Situated to Succeed, our lodge has a definite opportunity to accept new young men. Millennials (Gen Y) have surpassed Baby Boomers as our nation's largest living generation, according to population estimates. Gen Xers are projected to remain the “middle child” of generations – caught between two larger generations of the Millennials and the Boomers. So why the big deal about the Millennial generation, they don’t believe in being shackled to tradition, they believe in learning, not pieces of paper, they believe in learning from someone else’s experience, they believe in life, not work-life balance, and they don’t believe in the inherent value of face time, for the millennial that means fewer face-to-face meetings and more emails, texts, video conference or calls. Which in my opinion makes them profound communicators, now how does this apply to our time-honored fraternity and lodge.

Gen Xers and Millennials were the first to grow up with computers in their homes. Technology has made for us a global community, and the new membership brings it with them, the days of sitting alone in your office studying your ritual and imaging how the pass was in masonry, not being able to reach out on a global scale, to obtain factual information, that's no more our young men today have an array of talent and skills, much more sophisticated learning ability, all we have to do is enlighten them should they seek more light. They will continue our legacy as Prince Hall Freemason in my opinion on a much larger scale than the Boomers have done, the Boomers have a lot of first, Gen Xers took heed and advanced their first, the Millennial will explode it Globally.

Let the strategy be accepted and embrace these young and upcoming members, and guide and educate them to the Great Tenets of Freemasonry: Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. and the so call Landmarks of Freemasonry that being A belief in a Supreme Being; A belief in the Fatherhood of God (and its corollary The Brotherhood of Man); A belief in the Immortality of the Soul. and last but not least Make Good Men Better.

Owing to the success and strategy of our lodge, we must have active membership growth, with a core of highly talented individuals. There are many, especially in the military community, civilians and service members alike.

Continue to be a Beacon of Light in our Communities,

Being Upright Men doing what's

Good, Right, and True.

We can and will have a successful year. Why? We have members in our lodge with over 130+ years of successful Masonic and Military Leadership experience collectively and that's why we are

"Situated to Succeed"...
